Please read these Terms & Conditions ("Terms", "Terms of Business") carefully before using our website cleaningserviceswokingham.co.uk or registering for our domestic cleaning services. By requesting a cleaner or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Nature of Our Services (Introductory Agency)

Cleaning Services Wokingham operates as an introductory agency. Our business matches householders ("Clients", "you") with vetted, self-employed domestic cleaners ("Cleaners") from our database.

  • The service contract for the cleaning itself is a direct agreement between you and the matched Cleaner.
  • Cleaning Services Wokingham acts as the administrator and supervisor of the introduction service, managing background checks, insurance coverage arrangements, cleaner match quality, and replacement cover options.

2. Bookings, Hours, and Rates

  • Minimum Hours: The minimum booking for regular weekly or fortnightly cleaning is 2 hours per visit.
  • Hourly Rate: Our standard rate is £21.95 per hour. This rate encompasses the Cleaner's payment and the agency administration/insurance fee.
  • Spring Cleaning: One-off spring cleans are charged at a flat rate of £150 for a 5-hour clean, following the specific spring checklist.
  • Rate Reviews: We reserve the right to review and adjust our hourly rates. Clients will be notified in writing at least 14 days prior to any rate adjustment.

3. Cleaner Vetting and Status

We take cleaner security very seriously. Every Cleaner is vetted before being introduced to a Client. Our vetting standard includes:

  • Checking proof of identity and proof of address.
  • Verifying eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Requesting and reviewing employment history and character references.
  • Conducting a vetting interview at the Cleaner's own home.
  • Conducting police (DBS) checks.

Cleaners are self-employed independent contractors introduced by Cleaning Services Wokingham. They are responsible for their own tax and National Insurance declarations.

4. Insurance Cover & Accidental Damage

For your peace of mind, every clean introduced by Cleaning Services Wokingham is backed by £2 million in public liability insurance. This coverage is subject to the following rules:

  • Excess Fee: In the event of a valid claim for accidental damage, the Client is responsible for the first £100 (excess) of any claim.
  • Damage Notification: Any damage must be reported to Cleaning Services Wokingham in writing (along with photographic evidence) within 24 hours of the cleaning visit. Claims made after this window cannot be accepted.
  • Exclusions: The insurance does not cover accidental damage to items of significant sentimental value (such as antiques, heirlooms, or fine art) unless explicitly declared to us and agreed in writing beforehand. Wear and tear, pre-existing structural issues, and damage caused by using customer-provided bleach or abrasive products are also excluded.

5. Client Responsibilities

To ensure a high standard of cleaning and safety, the Client agrees to:

  • Provide Equipment & Materials: Provide all cleaning products (detergents, sprays, cloths) and working equipment (vacuum cleaner, mop, bucket) required to perform the clean. If you require eco-friendly products, please ensure these are supplied.
  • Safe Working Environment: Ensure that the home is a safe environment for the Cleaner to work. Any electrical equipment provided (such as vacuums or irons) must be in safe working order.
  • Access: Arrange access to the property at the scheduled times (e.g. by being present, providing a key, or setting up a key safe code).

6. Cancellations and Sickness Cover

  • Temporary Cancellations: If you need to cancel or reschedule a specific cleaning visit (e.g. for holidays), you must give us at least **48 hours notice**. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice will be charged at the full hourly rate.
  • Sickness & Holiday Cover: If your regular Cleaner is sick or on holiday, we will make every effort to arrange a vetted temporary replacement. If no replacement can be found or you decline the replacement, you will not be charged for the missed clean.

7. Non-Solicitation (Direct Hiring Bypass Fee)

Our cleaners represent our primary asset, and we invest heavily in recruiting, interviewing, vetting, and police checking them.

  • The Client agrees **not to employ or hire** (directly or indirectly) any Cleaner introduced by Cleaning Services Wokingham for any domestic, private, or commercial cleaning services outside of our agency framework.
  • This restriction applies during the term of your agreement and for a period of **6 months** following the termination of your agreement.
  • If you wish to hire an introduced Cleaner directly, you must notify Cleaning Services Wokingham and pay a **referral/bypass fee of £1,000** before the direct employment begins. Failure to do so will result in legal action to recover lost agency revenue.

8. Termination of Agreement

For regular weekly or fortnightly cleaning services, either party (the Client or Cleaning Services Wokingham) may terminate this agreement at any time by giving **14 days written notice**. Notice can be sent via email to our main support address.

9. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
